The purpose of this site is support all aspects of Blacksburg Football. The goal is to enhance all the football programs and the overall experience of the athletes, parents/family, coaches, students and the Blacksburg community. Through increased parent participation, community involvement, and school spirit, we hope to assist in building enthusiasm for and within the many different levels of Blacksburg Football.
Unfortunately, our professional photograph website on SmugMug will close on Oct 21, 2019, and all the photographs will be deleted from the site.
https://blacksburgfootball.smugmug.com
We started the partnership with Smug mug with the goal of making the service to the parents “self-liquidating”….Meaning, with a goal to make a few dollars for Blacksburg Football, but at the very least, break even and be a great service to parents. We paid a professional photographer $125 per game to take photos for our home games. In the early years, we paid them for every game, and then decided to do just home games to reduce our losses. The quality of the photos are second to none as our professionals shoot regularly for the Roanoke Times, USA Today, and etc.
However, the program lost money each year and thus, we cannot continue to fund the site any longer. Photos go back to 2013 and include of course, the State Championship run / game. Many of the photographs are stunning and it is a shame they will all be lost, but people don’t seem willing to pay just a $1-$2 for a professional photo. Once you purhase a high-res download printed image, it is yours, and you can do with it what you like (social media, print, mouse pads, & etc).
Last year, we attempted to make one last run at the program as a volunteer paid the $250 annual dues to keep the site one last year, but the site lost money again.
Please download whatever pictures you may want, and spread the word because once the site goes down, the photos will be gone forever. Please let those who may have children in cheerleading and the band know, as there are many pictures of them as well.
All money from the site goes to Blacksburg Football.
